Holy Spirit Novena
The Power of the Hail Mary
Novena to Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament
Fr. Jozo's Prayer to the Holy Spirit in Siroki Brijeg October 3, 2000 Come, O Most Holy Spirit, come to us today. We need your love, because we desire to go on the new way to return to the Father, to take the step to the Father. O Come, Holy Spirit, You who makes all things new. Today grant a miracle in us and through us. Change our hearts. Take from us our hearts of stone and give us a new heart, a heart that knows how to love, how to pray, how to forgive. A heart that knows how to embrace the cross and recognize the will of God and carry it to the end.Come, O Most Holy Spirit, You who are our peace, come fill us with peace. You who are love, fill us with love and blessing and salvation. We are not here accidentally. We have been called, that we may be able to recognize our call and our mission. We ask You to come O Most Holy Spirit, that our masks may melt away, that our true face may be revealed before You. Come, O Most Holy Spirit, may a miracle happen today: the beginning of our conversion, the beginning of our true devotion. Come, O Most Holy Spirit pour out Your grace and Your strength on Your Church and convert us. Sanctify us. Change us. Come, O Most Holy Spirit, we are the Church united together in prayer with the Mother. As the disciples at the very beginning, united together with Her in prayer for the gift of Your Spirit, for the gift of love, that we may be freed from selfishness and hatred, that we may be freed from every evil, and that we may start to love, that we may start to forgive and to pray, that we may start to fast. Come, O Most Holy Spirit. Come bless us. Come, change us. You who are prayer, come and anoint us with prayer that we may become the Church that believes in the power of prayer. Come, Most Holy Spirit, renew prayer in us, that we may become the renewers of family prayer.Come, O Most Holy Spirit, come heal us, come bless us, come convert us. O You who anoints with Your Peace, with Your Joy, with Your Love. Come anoint us.
In the last message O Blessed Mother, You say, that the one who prays, lives joy and peace and love. O Blessed Mother, here is the Church in prayer, here is the Church who desires to renew itself in prayer, firm in prayer, come to fall in love with prayer. O grant that these days may be the renewal of our prayer, of our faith through prayer, of our love through prayer, of a Christian life in prayer. Come, O Most Holy Spirit. Come, pour Yourself out upon us. The Church united together with the Mother is praying to you, You who make all things new. Grant that this Church may become new. It may become a Church of prayer, a holy Church, a sign amongst nations, your city on the hillside, your light on the way, Your Self. Come, O Most Holy Spirit. Come and pour Yourself out upon us. Our Father who art in Heaven....Hail Mary, full of grace...Mother and Queen of Peace - pray for us. Mother of the Church - pray for us. Mother and Queen of the family - pray for us. Consolation of the Sorrowful - pray for us, help of Christians - pray for us, help of the sick - pray for us, gate of heaven - pray for us. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Prayer of Padre Pio after Communion
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have you present so that I do not forget you. You know how easily I abandon you. Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need your strength that I may not fall so often. Stay with me, Lord, for you are my life, and without you, I am without fervor. Stay with me, Lord, for you are my light and without you, I am in darkness. Stay with me, Lord, to show me your will. Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear your voice and follow you. Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love you very much and always be in your company. Stay with me Lord, if you wish me to be faithful to you. Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my souls is I want it to be a place of consolation for you, a nest of love. Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close and life passes – death, judgement, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength so that I will not stop along the way and for that I need you. It is getting late and death approaches. I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrow. Oh, how I need you, my Jesus in this night of exile. Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers. I need you. Let me recognize you as your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart. Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to you, if not by communion, at lease by grace and love. Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for Divine Consolation, because I do not merit it, but the gift of your presence, Oh, yes, I ask this of you! Stay with me, Lord, for it is you alone I look for. Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more. With a firm love I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love you perfectly during all eternity. Amen.

Prayer for Peace To Mary, the Light of Hope
Immaculate Heart of Mary, help us to conquer the menace of evil, which so easily takes root in the hearts of the people today, and whose immeasurable effects already weigh down upon our modern world and seem to block the paths toward the future. From famine and war, deliver us. From nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us. From sins against human life from its very beginning, deliver us. From hatred and from the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God, deliver us. From every kind of injustice in the life of society, both national and international, deliver us. From readiness to trample on the commandments of God, deliver us. From attempts to stifle in human hearts the very truth of God, deliver us. From the loss of awareness of good and evil, deliver us. From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver us. Accept, O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the sufferings of all individual human beings, laden with the sufferings of world societies. Help us with the power of the Holy Spirit conquer all sin: Individual sin and the “sin of the world,” sin in all its manifestations. Let there be revealed once more in the history of the world the infinite saving power of the redemption: the power of merciful love. May it put a stop to evil. May it transform consciences. May your Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of hope. Amen. Pope John Paul II |
Prayer for Priests
Almighty God, look upon the face of Him who is the eternal High Priest, and have compassion on your priests in today’s world. Remember that they are but weak and frail human beings. Stir up in them the grace of their vocation. Keep them close to you least the enemy prevail against them, so that they may never do anything in the slightest degree unworthy of their sublime vocation.
O Jesus, I pray for Your unfaithful and fervent priests, for the unfaithful and tepid ones; for those laboring at home and abroad in distant mission fields; for those who are tempted; for those who are lonely and desolate; for those who are in purgatory.
But, above all, I recommend to you priests dearest to me; the priests who baptized me; the priests who absolved me from my sins; the priests who instructed me or helped me by their encouragement. I pray for all the priest to whom I am indebted in any other way, in particular for... O Jesus, keep them all close to Your heart and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. Amen.
O Mary, Queen fo the cleargy, pray for us: obtain for us a number of holy priests. Amen

TRUST
Jesus, This life is hard, seems each new day brings a new problem. At times it feels like darkness is closing in. Help us to see when we feel afraid it is because we have taken our eyes off of You. You are always by our side, and You will lead and guide us, if we allow You to. As Peter held Your hand and stepped out onto the water he was putting total trust in You. He was at peace and he was in amazement, defying even the laws of nature. But then he took his eyes off of You, and he began to sink. The same thing happens to us. If we put our lives into Your hands, and keep our eyes fixed on You, all things are possible. But like Peter if we look at the size of the waves and our circumstances we too begin to sink. Help us to remember when that happens to reach up for You hand and like Peter to ask for Your help. Please lead us day by day, and help us in our weaknesses. Hold our hands as we walk through this life, until the day we will be with You forever. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

COURAGE
Jesus, Having an illness, or watching someone we love going through one is a cross. You asked us to pick up our crosses daily and follow after You. Lord, You alone know our hearts, our strengths and our weaknesses. Help us to see that even if there are things in this life that bring us worry and fear, You never leave us. Let that really enter into our hearts. Courage is not the absence of fear. It is going forward in spite of fear. Saint Paul told us to keep our eyes on the prize, help us to see beyond the pain. Teach us to keep our eyes fixed on You, and Your love. And let us truly understand Your words, “ I am the way, the truth, and the life.” In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen |
Peace in Our Hearts Always
My Lord Jesus, I love you so very much! I want to love you as you love me. I truly have nothing to give you but my love, everything belongs to You. I realize when I pray I am usually asking for a favor, seldom do I give praise to You. Lord, purify my heart, give me the grace to always seek your will above my own. Help me to trust You, and know your will is always best. I ask for peace in my heart, that no matter what storms I have to endure in this life, I will understand there is a reason for everything You allow. And to know one day I will be happy with You forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen

PRAYER FOR HEALING
My Lord Jesus, We ask for the grace to truly know You. We want to really understand how much You love us, and how much You desire our love. You call to us each day in the quiet of our hearts, but most times we do not recognize Your voice. You are always trying to draw us to You, but so many times we pull away. Lord you are the Divine Physician and many times in the Bible You healed the people that asked for Your help. Today we ask for Your healing touch. We ask You to look deep within us, and heal us in the way that You choose. We ask You to increase our trust in You so that as we face these trials, we will grow closer to You, and never turn away from Your loving hand. In Jesus’ name we pray.
