The MIR Group Presents:

A Jubilee Year of Mercy Pilgrimage

Honoring Our Lady Queen of Heaven and Mother of Mercy

“I am not only the Queen of Heaven, but also the Mother of Mercy, and your Mother”

   ~Diary of St. Faustina, 330~

On March 13, 2015, Pope Francis called for an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.  During this year of Mercy, it is possible for the faithful to receive a Jubilee Indulgence.  This indulgence can be received in one of three ways: walk through the Holy Door, go on pilgrimage to designated sites, or participate in a work of mercy.  It is also necessary to receive Holy Communion, participate in the sacrament of reconciliation, and pray for the Holy Father within three days to receive the indulgence.  On our one day pilgrimage, you will have to opportunity to complete all requirements for the indulgence!

(The Feast of the Queenship of Our Lady)

With Spiritual Director: Fr. Paul Clark, Parochial Vicar at Divine Mercy

  • The Day begins at Divine Mercy Church (4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy. Kenner, LA 70065) with reconciliation available 8:00am – 8:50am. At 8:50 board the Motor Coach bus to begin pilgrimage. (onboard restroom)
  • First visit Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, home of the International Shrine of St. Jude and oldest church building in New Orleans. Here take a tour of the Church and Shrine and have time for individual prayer.  The small gift shop will also be open where you can purchase a candle to place at the shrine or in the grotto
  • Back aboard the bus partake in the bag lunch you have brought with you as we journey to our next stop. (Please, bring food appropriate to eat on a bus. No glass bottles.)
  • The next pilgrimage site is The National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, home to the statue of Our Lady that came to New Orleans from France in 1810. This statue was instrumental in the prayers for protection against the fires that ravaged New Orleans in the early 1800’s and in the prayers for the victory of Andrew Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans.  Tour the church and the museum, have an opportunity to browse the gift shop, and take time for individual prayer.
  • Next it is time to re-board the bus to head back to Divine Mercy Church. Once here tour this beautiful church.  At 3:00pm (the Hour of Mercy) the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed followed by a celebration of Mass in honor of “Holy Mary, Queen and Mother of Mercy.”

Join us for this incredible pilgrimage experience right here in our own backyard!!!
